virtualpc 2007 + Hamster II Nitgen

I can't use a hamster ii finger print reader from a virtual pc machine.  
 
I can connect to the host ok, and to the reader in the host ok, but when I press "capture" in the diagnostic tool, the reader is blocked with the red light fixed.
 
Host - Windows XP sp3
Guest - Windows XP sp3

Ok, let's check whether this problem occurs because of VirtualPC. Could you please try another PC instead of VirtualPC? If you don't have such a possibility, you can use one PC only. I mean you can install both UoN Server and Client on the same PC and make this test. Will it work?

Tested on same pc, same behaviour. Until I stop sharing on server, the light is up and device is blocked.
